You now have more control over how Y-axes are displayed on indicator charts in IMS. This article covers two customization options available to Admins:
Zero-Based Y-Axis
You can choose to enable or disable a zero-based Y-axis on time series charts. When enabled, the Y-axis will always start at zero, which can help provide consistent visual context across charts.
To enable or disable zero-based y-axes on charts:
- Navigate to the Changes Over Time section on an indicator's page.
- Click the hamburger icon in the top right corner of the chart
.
- Select Enable/Disable Zero based Y-Axis.
- If enabled, the graph will display zero on the y-axis

Fixed Y-Axis Range Control
Admins can now define a fixed Y-axis range for indicator charts. This setting is applied at the indicator level in IMS and ensures that the Y-axis remains consistent regardless of the data being displayed. This is especially useful for comparing charts over time or across locations.
To set a fixed Y-axis range:
- Log into IMS.
- Create a new indicator or edit an existing one.
- In the indicator settings, locate the Fixed Range field.
- Check the box to enable a fixed Y-axis range.
- Save your changes.
- Publish the indicator to apply the update to the chart on the front-end.
