Drug overdose deaths have surged across the United States and reached a historic high in recent years. Communities across the country have prioritized behavioral health as a top issue for action. In their response, Franklin County, Ohio took a community-driven approach to prevent addiction and overdose and to support recovery, street by street, one community at a time.
With their community partners, Franklin County Public Health launched Franklin County Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Evaluation System (CARES) - a community platform focusing on data-driven strategies that consider community conditions of addiction including financial security, access to healthy food, and other basic needs.
In this webinar, Franklin County Public Health shared how they collaborated with Conduent Healthy Communities Institute to build a platform that:
-
Provides insight into the risk factors, health outcomes, and social determinants of addiction
-
Coordinates resources for overdose and addiction prevention, outreach, and recovery
-
Enables timely and targeted assessment of the health status of specific geographic areas within the county
