To prepare for their next CHNA, Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) in Virginia wanted to bring a variety of community stakeholders into the process and collaboratively drive improvement through data-driven strategies. They turned to Healthy Communities Institute to inject public health expertise into the process, in conjunction with an easy-to-use community engagement platform to prioritize areas of need, such as school-age obesity. Additionally, MWHC offered $1.9 million in funding opportunities and empowered local organizations to use the HCI Platform in the grant application process.
